About Arno

Hello and welcome. My name is Arno Overweel. Rno Cycles is (A)Rno Overweel.

Since I was a kid I have been playing with tools to make all sorts of things. I would eventually take my toys apart to either repair them or to satisfy my curiosity for how they worked. At school I was always making drawings during the boring lessons but despite that I did manage to get many diplomas!
In 1989 I bought a Puch MV 50cc moped for my 16th birthday and I became infected with the 2 wheeler virus. My mechanic days had started!
With my student allowance (for my HND degree in Mechanical Engineering) and my income from a summer job as maintenance mechanic I made plans for building a Swedish style chopper. It is still the same now as it was then: I can't help it. Sooner or later I will start thinking about modifying every bike I see or own.

With a background as a mechanical designer / manufacturer, an eye for detail, visual imagination, design skills and extensive experience with various manufacturing processes and materials I dare to think and work along unconventional lines, "Out of the Box". And I know that often the only way to find out if something works is to actually make it. It may initially cost some brainstorming, the necessary research and time, but almost anything is possible.

One of my highlights was in 2007 when I decided to enter a project for the Bigtwin Bike Show. I was busy building a project, Lucky Bastard, a 650cc cylinder with a mix of styles. With that motorbike I won the first prize in the Custom Class! It tasted like more so I also entered the Lucky Bastard for the Open European Custom Bike Championship in Belgium. There I also won the first prize. Lucky Bastard photos can be found under "Motorcycles".

Using experience and innovation I try to create a practical and creative balance between form and function that results in a motorbike that is as unique as you, the rider himself.

Naturally, besides the character and design of the bike, the reliability and safety are also very important. Rno Cycles feels highly responsible for this and therefore we offer supply conditions and a warranty policy. Please contact us for more information.

Do you want to break free from the crowd and can you stand the attention? Then you need look no further.

Thanks for viewing and reading my website. Whenever a project is finished I will update the site. Furthermore, for the latest news and a preview of the projects I'm working on see "BLOG / PROJECTS".
